A humpback whale breaching in Samaná Bay, then an afternoon on the white sand of Cayo Levantado. This full-day trip from Punta Cana runs during whale season, mid-January to mid-April. Ride by A/C bus along the coast and the Anamuya range to Las Cañitas, then board a double-deck catamaran into the Samaná Bay whale sanctuary. Every winter, humpback whales up to 15 meters long come here from the North Atlantic to mate and give birth.
After the whales, the catamaran sails to Cayo Levantado for a buffet lunch on the beach, swimming and free time before the ride back. Water, rum and soft drinks are served on board.
